The Rofeh Yedid curriculum includes

8 chapters of Rambam
(Maimonides)

The Rambam's introduction to Pirkei Avot consists of 8 chapters. In Pirkei Avot, the concept of "behaving beyond the letter of the law" is central. Rambam underscores the importance of understanding various character traits, delineating the extremes that are undesirable, the virtuous middle path, and the exemplary path of the pious, which goes beyond mere legal requirements.

These chapters also touch upon topics such as free will, predestination, the philosophy and Torah-based perspectives on piety, fundamental aspects of human behavior, and the means by which we can and should refine our conduct and character towards achieving perfection. It is crucial for any physician to study these chapters as they provide valuable insights into human behavior, enabling them to better understand and influence their patients and their environment.

Hilchos Deot

In this work, Maimonides imparts wisdom and guidance on ethics and character development rooted in Torah teachings. "Hilchos Deot" is tailored for the common person, emphasizing character improvement for the majority, while the "Eight Chapters" specifically address pious individuals striving for wisdom and character perfection.
